A small infestation can lead to thousands of dollars in remedying the situation if not caught early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prevention<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All upholstered furniture, mattresses, and box springs from drop-off and the truck will be inspected, vacuumed, and sprayed with Steri-Fab upon arrival on the loading dock.\u00a0<ul><li><strong>Inspect<\/strong> | Pay particular attention to seams and underneath cushions, as they are attracted to warm places. You&#8217;re looking for black (bugs), brown (bug casings), or white (eggs) spots.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Vacuum <\/strong>| Vacuum thoroughly, getting underneath cushions\u00a0and in crevices especially.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Steri-Fab<\/strong> | This spray kills bed bugs upon contact and is also a precaution. We have spray bottles and refills, so do not throw away empty Steri-Fab spray bottles.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Upholstered furniture will be inspected again upstairs before going to the showroom.\u00a0<\/li><li>Upholstered furniture, mattresses, and box springs will be inspected again when gathered for orders.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Treatment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If bed bugs are found&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Immediately dispose of the item into the dumpster behind the loading dock. If it&#8217;s too large to be put in the dumpster (e.g. couch) or it&#8217;s a mattress, leave it on the loading dock away from all other furniture.\u00a0<\/li><li>Notify Duty Officer or staff member (if there&#8217;s no DO)<\/li><li>If the item with the infestation was upstairs, inspect and spray all surrounding furniture with Steri-Fab.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The more precautions we take the less likely of an infestation.
