{"id":770,"date":"2022-03-11T21:23:43","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T21:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newlifefb.org\/knowledge\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=770"},"modified":"2023-02-17T15:52:55","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T15:52:55","password":"","slug":"scheduling-pickups","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/newlifefb.org\/knowledge\/docs\/scheduling-pickups\/","title":{"rendered":"Scheduling Pickups"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review <strong>New Requests<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check dates and notes, ensure it&#8217;s not a duplicate, etc. <strong>Approve<\/strong> if everything appears okay. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cancel<\/strong> a request if it&#8217;s duplicate or something seems awry (e.g. address outside pickup zone), though the software will detect most of these issues.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For reasons other than duplication,<strong> email <\/strong>them to notify of the cancellation and provide an explanation and alternatives if applicable. (e.g.<em> Since Newton is not in our pickup area, we have cancelled your request. Please know you may rent a moving truck or hire movers to bring the items to us on Saturdays 9:30 to 11:30.<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved requests will be listed under <strong>Reviewed Requests<\/strong>. Use <strong>Schedule<\/strong> to view routes and experiment with appropriate routes for the request(s).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Available routes will be added by the Operations Manager. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volunteers will fill in routes with requests. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Things to keep in mind:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pickup size: <\/strong>A few items can be done quickly. Consider how long each item will take to bring outside. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location within home\/business:<\/strong> The less accessible the items are, the longer it will take &#8211; with outside\/garage being the fastest and upstairs\/downstairs being the slowest. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location of pickup:<\/strong> Ideally stops should be in close proximity of each other or on the way there\/back. A good rule of thumb is to have a total travel time be around 1.5 hours maximum. It can be slightly longer for smaller pickups and shorter for larger pickups. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Truck space:<\/strong> Visualize how much can fit in the truck at a time. Several stops in a farther pickup area won&#8217;t work if the truck has to go back to the warehouse to unload before heading all the way back out again. Farther stops are best paired with small local pickups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once happy with the route, mark the newly added stop as <strong>Tentative<\/strong> before saving.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This will trigger an automatic pickup offer email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the person confirms their pickup, mark the request as <strong>Confirmed<\/strong>. This will trigger the confirmation email.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New emails and texts will show up as a notification in the top bar. Thank you! &#8211; New Life<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cancellation Due to Time Frame<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Hi <strong>[Name]<\/strong>, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, we do not have availability within the desired time frame due to high demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can drop off most Saturdays 9:30 to 11:30 or book an appointment for select weekdays at newlifefb.org\/give-furniture\/drop-off. If moving the furniture or transportation is a challenge, you can rent a truck or hire a mover to bring the items during the aforementioned drop-off opportunities.
