Both the Volunteer and Development Coordinator and the student must sign this document, which is saved in Box/Operations/Volunteer Program/Senior Service.
This was developed after issues with communication, accountability, and behavioral challenges in the past.
Parameters #
To be approved to complete Senior Service at New Life, students must: #
- 4+ weeks prior to the start date, email Amanda Wolfe, Volunteer Coordinator, at amanda@newlifefb.org requesting to complete their Senior Service with New Life. The Volunteer Coordinator will respond as soon as possible. The email should include:
- Hour requirements
- Start and end dates
- Associated work e.g. journaling
- Any other guidelines
- 3+ weeks prior to the start date, email the Volunteer Coordinator the days and times they are available to volunteer, taking into account:
- School schedule
- Sports games/practices
- Work schedule
- Vacations
- Other obligations
- 2+ weeks prior to the start date, submit any papers that need to be signed by the Volunteer Coordinator in person or via email.
- On the start date (or the first weekday), attend the introduction meeting scheduled by the Volunteer Coordinator where they will:
- Review and sign this contract
- Review the school’s senior service guidelines
- Learn about New Life with a tour
While completing their Senior Service at New Life, students will be expected to: #
- Record on-site hours by checking in and out and adding off-site hours at newlifefb.org/vol. Click Add Hours in the upper right-hand corner.
- Arrive on time and attend all scheduled events unless they notify the Volunteer Coordinator in advance of any scheduling conflicts.
- Be respectful of the staff and volunteer leaders, including listening to directions and actively engaging in the task at hand.
New Life reserves the right to dismiss any volunteers that repeatedly fail to meet these expectations and will contact the school.
